My darling friends surprised me with a brilliantly rich and delicious chocolate cake from ‘Paul’…Mousse au Chocolat mmmm with a base I still am not utterly sure about…it felt like toasted bread…quite decadent I must say

Thai Chi, Dubai: This is a miniature piece of the statues that stand tall as the guardians to the Grand Palace in Bangkok. They are giant demons (Thotsakhirithon) that are traditionally placed outside to protect holy places and the number and size of the statue may vary depending on the size and wealth of the structure.

Yesterday was my birthday and my darling husband gave me the best gift possible…a gorgeous arrangement of flowers telling me how much he loves me and a beautiful bike!!
I have only recently started to learn how to cycle and I can’t wait to try out the new bike =) Thank you so much love.

This was at a dear friend’s ‘Mehendi’ (it is an important pre-wedding ceremony and is intended to celebrate the coming of age of the bride).
The house was decorated in yellows and greens and there were burning candles all around along with traditional music to liven up the occasion.

My last indulgence for the day was also a Gateaux master piece rightly called the Devil’s Chocolate…truly felt sinful

Yesterday was one of the most beautiful surprises I’ve had all year round…
It usually hits around 40°C in May in UAE, but yesterday… it was a beautifully cloudy day, temperature in the twenties, lovely breeze and then… it rained… :)

Il Palazzo, Abu Dhabi: My substituted Orecchiette pasta in a very interesting sauce with mushrooms and parmesan cheese mmm
I still can’t get over the fact that the bread was so perfect and the combination of fresh warm bread with salsa was an outstanding combination! Should try the bread again some day

I still can’t believe it has been a year since we got married =)…on the day he got me a huge bouquet of blood red roses surrounded by white chrysanthemum blossoms.

The art of pottery always amazes me…moulding the soft sticky earth into beautiful pieces of objects then heating them and adding finishing touches.
I have tried my hand at terracotta figurines and it is quite relaxing…the feel of clay on your hands and might I add that people who work with clay tend to have very smooth hands

My hubby promised his little niece that he would bake her a cake if she got through lent without cheating…well lets say the definition for cheating wasn’t explained… but it was fun watching him all excited to bake the cake…and after he got the cake done…I enjoyed frosting it. M&M’s to decorate it further…who could go wrong with more chocolate after all

Ever since I started painting (which was only maybe a month back) my mom has been asking me to do a bouquet for her and this here is the finished work…hahaha but I should have known that this was a chain reaction …so now my mommy wants more flower paintings rather than anything else
The technique for this kind of painting was quite interesting rather than mixing the colours on the palate …you mix it on the canvas…took me a while to get it but enjoyed it every bit.

Having studied at a university where the student population is made up of almost 90 different nationalities makes Global Day a great way to learn more about each other… This year I ended up going to campus early in the morning when the students were putting the finishing touches to their pavilions…

I just loved how the pavilion was a great example of Japanese traditions and modern Japanese culture… a great pavilion complete with tatami mats, sakura trees, mangas and the promise of sushi for dinner! :)
